I have been involved in real estate and stock/bond market investing since 1978. I have founded and built successful businesses.
I became a stockbroker after renovating old houses and apartment buildings in my early twenties. I managed money in my mid-twenties and then founded Roderick MacIver & Co. Inc., an investment research firm, in New York City focusing on distressed and deeply-undervalued securities. Roderick MacIver & Co. Inc had over 100 institutional and corporate clients who paid between $10,000 and $60,000 a year for my firm’s research. See 1987 Barron’s article.
I divide my time between a home in New York’s Adirondack Park and Amelia Island in Northeast Florida.
